The largest of the sea turtles, the leatherback turtle can measure over 2 meters long and weigh nearly 600 kg. It is recognized by its dark, scaleless shell, marked with raised lines that give it a unique appearance.
Amazingly, the leatherback turtle can travel thousands of kilometers between its breeding grounds and feeding grounds. It feeds almost exclusively on jellyfish, helping to regulate their population in the oceans. Its body is perfectly adapted for long dives: it can reach depths of 1,200 meters and stay underwater for over an hour.
This Papo figurine faithfully reproduces the leatherback turtle: imposing silhouette, detailed shell and powerful fins. An ideal model to enrich a collection of marine animals, invent stories about the oceans or raise children's awareness of the protection of endangered marine species.
