Our environmental approach

The choice of materials

For 30 years , Papo has paid particular attention to the quality of its figurines. This desire to offer beautiful toys that last over time is part of the brand's DNA. Creating sustainable toys also means adopting an environmentally friendly approach, and this involves the key stage of figurine design, particularly product design.

At Papo, product design draws on 30 years of experience and expertise. Materials are selected to provide the greatest durability while ensuring child safety. Primarily made of PVC, our figurines meet all the requirements of current REACH standards.

The figures in the Papo Baby range are made with 100% natural rubber.

100 pourcent

The paper labels bearing the legal notices and the string attaching them to the product are 100% recyclable.

Priority to raw materials from responsible sources

FSC

At Papo, the choice of materials extends to the merchandising solutions we provide to our network of resellers.
We offer wooden furniture that offers great durability as well as an alternative with cardboard furniture that is very solid and even more ecological, particularly in terms of transport.

Our foam panoply boxes and wooden garden furniture are made from FSC cardboard and FSC wood respectively.
The vast majority of our materials used in production come from eco-responsible sources subject to FSC certification.

Our customer catalog is printed on FSC-certified paper and has been awarded the Nordic Swann label, which ensures printing with minimal environmental impact and minimal energy use.

All our products and packaging are tested and comply with the latest European and American safety and environmental standards (EN 71, ASTM, REACH).

Our commitments to organizations

We are members and contribute to various European environmental protection organizations (CITEO, ECOMAISON, RECLAY, etc.) for the
recovery and recycling of our packaging and products.

In accordance with new regulations, we display the TRIMAN sorting information on our products, which aims to facilitate sorting by specifying the terms for sorting or bringing the used product.
The factories with which we work closely are committed to this eco-responsible approach and are regularly subject to certification audits.

Papo figurines are mostly made of PVC and meet all current REACH standards.
Eager to offer even more eco-responsible products,
We are working on researching new materials that could gradually replace PVC while offering the same level of
solidity.

As part of the implementation of the AGEC law, we are in a process of continuous improvement aimed at eliminating waste and pollution from the design phase and transforming the production, distribution and consumption system from a linear economic model to a circular economic model.

Packaging optimization

9 7 %

Our products are sold in stores without packaging.

Packaging dimensions optimized according to product size to avoid wasted space.

Recyclable materials

To protect our products during shipment to our network of resellers/distributors, we use 100% recyclable polybags.
For the 3% of products sold with packaging in stores, we use 100% recyclable cardboard packaging or blisters.

Reduce the impact of our supplies

More than 10% of our figurines are made in Europe, more precisely in Portugal.

Our promotional bags and catalogs are printed in Italy and Spain .

Shorter supply progression

Un approvisionnement à impact réduit

Reduced impact sourcing

We systematically optimize the filling of our containers to limit the number of journeys and thus reduce the carbon footprint linked to transport. The shipping boxes from factories to our warehouses are reused for shipment to our customers or shredded for use as stuffing or for recycling; the size of these boxes has also been reduced as much as possible.
