Elegant and resilient, the oryx antelope is perfectly adapted to the desert and semi-arid environments of Africa. Easily recognizable by its light coat contrasting with black markings and its long, straight horns, it travels in herds in search of rare vegetation.
Surprisingly, the oryx can survive for days, even weeks, without drinking, obtaining the necessary water from its diet and regulating its body temperature. When running, it can reach speeds of nearly 60 km/h, allowing it to escape predators despite its open environment. Its sharp horns, present in both males and females, are formidable defensive weapons.
