Walrus Figurine

With its long ivory tusks and massive body, the walrus is one of the Arctic's most iconic marine mammals. It is found on ice floes and icy beaches, where it lives in large groups called "herds."

Surprisingly, its tusks, which can reach a meter long, are used for defense, to impress rivals, and also to help it climb back onto the ice. An excellent diver, the walrus can descend to depths of 80 meters to feed on shellfish, clams, and crustaceans, which it sucks up with its powerful mouth. Its thick layer of fat, called "blubber," allows it to withstand the extreme cold of polar seas.

This Papo figurine faithfully recreates the walrus: imposing tusks, wrinkled skin, and a robust silhouette. An ideal model to enrich a collection of marine animals, invent stories in the heart of the Arctic, or educate children about the lives of large polar mammals.
