A small, sociable and curious mammal, the meerkat is one of the most iconic animals of the African savannah. Easily recognizable by its light brown fur and upright posture on its hind legs, it constantly monitors its surroundings for potential predators.
Meerkats live in close-knit groups called “clans,” which can number several dozen individuals. Their organization is remarkable: while some scavenge the ground for insects and small animals, others stand guard. Fun fact: they communicate with each other using a wide variety of calls, each with a specific meaning.
This Papo figurine faithfully captures the mischievous look of the meerkat: slender body, slim snout, and vigilant posture. An ideal model to enrich a collection of wild animals, invent fun stories, or educate children about the fascinating life of savannah animals.
