Fragile but already impressive in size, the whale calf grows alongside its mother in the vastness of the oceans. At birth, it already measures several meters and depends entirely on maternal care to survive.
Surprisingly, whale milk contains nearly 40% fat, allowing the calf to gain several dozen kilos per day. During its first months, it remains constantly with its mother, following her on her migrations between the tropical waters where it was born and colder regions rich in food. Little by little, it learns to dive deeper and feed on fish and krill alone.
