Affectionate and curious, the young elephant discovers its environment under the watchful eye of the herd. At birth, it already weighs around 100 kilos but remains totally dependent on its mother and the other females in the group to feed and learn the rules of life in society.
Very playful, it uses its trunk to explore, spray itself with water, or even practice manipulating objects. Amazingly, baby elephants suckle until they are 2 to 3 years old, but continue to feed on their mother's milk even after they begin to eat grass. Protected in the heart of the herd, it grows up surrounded by its peers, gradually learning to become a full-fledged member of the clan.
This Papo figurine lovingly and realistically reproduces the young elephant: large expressive ears, movable trunk and lively posture. An ideal model to complete a collection of wild animals, invent touching stories or educate children about the fascinating social life of elephants.
